In other words, the value of knowledge lies in our power to make use of it in association with the greater knowledge which should come to us as we increase in years of experience, and as we substitute reasoning for instinct ......
Constructive Conscious Control of the Individual
F. A great eager to get to know your relations to the work of Natasja, for personally I feel a strong urge and beauty in a broad reflection and intelligent ThinkTank as well on these subjects. I was not only finding relations towards the mathematical/ cosmological art of Astrology that I have been studiing since 1984; In my personal quest/ work, to see how an esoteric tool/ ritual containing secret messages can be the very essence used for the richness of Art. I started from a performing pilgrimage into temple-rituals of the ancient Dravidian culture, a reseach where I try to connect to a source of rituals performed to a Solar System Temple agglomeration( Astrology) in Tamil Nadu India last year. I would like to invite you to see my report website http://www.zootengenant.com/dramayama to read and watch imagery of those adventures. Please do understand I am not a writer nor a theorician and I would love to have some reactions or filosophical comments/critics if anyone has time or interest. After a period of about seven years Pim suddenly disappeared, leaving no address, but lots of his stuff such as geometric models, hologram drawings, texts, tools and recycling materials. Going through his texts, Natascha Hagenbeek found that one of Pim’s goals was to make a simple do-it-yourself kit of the geometric Tripenta globe, an autonomous personal shelter that everyone can build to live in symbiosis with their surroundings.
Pim’s ideas about geometry in free space have lead Natascha Hagenbeek to the work of people such as visionary architect Buckminster Fuller (1895–1983), artist Yayoi Kusama (1929–), and eventually to dance and movement theoretician Rudolf von Laban (1879–1955) and spiritual teacher and teacher of dance George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff (1866–1949).
-------------------------------
To experience the work of Laban and Gurdjieff, two closed workshops are organized for which a special group of participants is invited. On Friday 24 February Anna Carlisle (GB) gives a Laban workshop and on Saturday 25 February Maja Moser (DE) teaches Gurdjieff movements. Both workshops take place in the Paper Dome, designed by architect Shigeru Ban.
The public presentation on Sunday 26 February features a short presentation of the work of Laban and Gurdjieff by Anna Carlisle and Maja Moser, a lecture by art historian Norman Bryson (US), a display of the research material on geometry in free space, and a showing of a choreography/performance study based on pictures of un-selfconscious behaviour in public space by Natascha Hagenbeek, in collaboration with Susanne Ohmann. The presentation will take place at Het Gebouw, designed by artist Stanley Brouwn.
-------------------------------
Practical information
Language: English
Admission free.
Venue:
Het Gebouw van Stanley Brouwn
Hogeweide 3-3b, Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht
Public transport:

24-26 02 2006

Thank you for participating in the research project Geometry in free space. I am looking forward to work with you all. Hereby the practical information:
Date: 24th-26th of February 2006
The project consists of three days: two days of workshops and one-day of public presentation. Please try to be committed to all three days. On the third day it’s important to have the energy generated by the workshops to be there through the presence of the participants.
- Lunch and diner are included and organized to meet and discuss. A small donation to help covering the costs of the catering is appreciated. Caterar: Bianca Hagenbeek.
- Bring suitable clothes, and shoes (!) to move on both a tile and ballet floor and comfortable clothes to keep you warm.
- Some people have asked me if an end discussion is scheduled in. If it turns out that the lunch and diner moments are not sufficient enough, we could do this ‘spontaneously’ on Sunday, after the programme is finished.
- The three days are being documented (video and photo). Photographer: Reyn van Koolwijk, filmer: Martin Hansen.
- Has somebody the possibility to host one of the participants from abroad? If yes, could you please let me know by e-mail?

The schedule of the three days is as follows:
Friday 24th, 10.00 – 17.30 (afterwards diner)
Location: Paper Dome, Hogeweide 3-3b, Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht
Please be there a little earlier, it’s important to start on time with the whole group present.
10.00: A small introduction of the project Geometry in free space by Natascha +
Introduction-round participants.
10.30: Living architecture, a workshop by Anna Carlisle (GB) based on the work of Hungarian dance pioneer, Rudolf von Laban (1879 - 1958).
13.00: Lunch ± 45 minutes.
18.00: Simple diner (soup with bread) at the workshop location.
(two tea/coffee breaks when needed)

Saturday 25th, 10.00 - 18.00 (afterwards diner at the Lloyd Hotel)
Location: Paper Dome, Hogeweide 3-3b, Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht
Please be there a little earlier, it’s important to start on time with the whole group present.
10.00: Gurdjieff movements, a workshop by Maja Moser (DE)
13.00: Lunch ± 45 minutes
20.00: Diner at the Lloyd Hotel, Oostelijke Handelskade 34, Amsterdam.
(two tea/coffee breaks when needed)

Sunday 26th, 13.00 - 14.30
Location: Het Gebouw van Stanley Brouwn, Hogeweide 3-3b, Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht
A public presentation featuring a short presentation of the work of Laban and Gurdjieff by Anna Carlisle and Maja Moser, a lecture by art historian Norman Bryson (US), a display of the research material on Geometry in free space, and a showing of a choreography/performance study based on pictures of un-selfconscious behaviour in public space by Natascha Hagenbeek.
How to get to the Paperdome and Het Gebouw
(Both locations are on the same address: Hogeweide 3-3b, Leidsche Rijn Utrecht)
Public transport:
From Utrecht Centraal (Central Station): Take bus 28 at ‘streekbusstation’ direction of Vleuterweide.
